Term of Office

  • Initial terms staggered: chairman 3 years, two members 2 years, two members 1 year

Duties and Functions

  • Enforce the Act
  • Administer oaths
  • Issue, suspend or revoke registrations
  • Investigate violations, issue subpoenas, and compel attendance
  • Conduct annual board examinations
  • Maintain standards and ethics
  • Promulgate rules after PRC approval
  • Adopt official seal

Compensation and Removal of Board Members

Fees

  • Application: ₱350
  • Registration post-exam: ₱250
  • Registration without exam: ₱250
  • Replacement of lost certificate: ₱100
  • Re-issuance of revoked certificate: ₱100

Penal Provisions

  • Punishments for unregistered practice or misuse of certificates
  • Fine ₱10,000 to ₱40,000 or imprisonment 1 to 6 years, or both
  • Grounds include using another’s certificate, expired or revoked licenses, false evidence, misrepresentation

Appropriations

  • Board member compensation included in General Appropriations Act annually

Repealing Clause

  • All inconsistent laws and regulations are repealed or modified

Effectivity

  • Law takes effect one month after publication in a general circulation newspaper
