Exclusions to the Credit Benefit

    • Persons convicted of specific crimes: robbery (robo), theft (hurto), and estafa (fraud).

  • Prison wardens in the Philippines are mandated to apply this provision when calculating the release date of inmates, factoring in the credit for preventive imprisonment.

Repeal of Conflicting Laws

  • Section 93 of the "Provisional Law for the application of the provisions of the Penal Code to the Philippine Islands" and other inconsistent laws or parts of laws are repealed to ensure clarity and uniform application of this Act.

Effectivity Clause

  • The Act took effect immediately upon its passage on February 1, 1916.
