Assignment of Military Assistants
- Military Assistants may be assigned to the Secretary of National Defense’s office at his discretion regarding number and grades.
- With presidential approval, Military Assistants may be assigned to the offices of the Vice-President, Senate President, and Speaker of the House.
- They must be active service members and will receive pay, allowances, and possible additional allowances or per diems as allowed by law and regulations.
Personal Military Assistants for Certain Officials
- Secretary of National Defense may assign Personal Military Assistants to select officials who are not otherwise entitled to aides-de-camp, including Vice-President, Senate President, Speaker, or high-ranking diplomats.
- Only one Personal Military Assistant per official at any time.
- Rank capped at Captain or Lieutenant Senior Grade.
- Restriction on additional financial benefits: Military assistants can only receive pay and allowances equivalent to their regular armed forces assignment; no extra allowances or per diems from the military during this detail.
Assignment of Armed Forces Liaison Officers
- Chief of Staff, AFP, may assign liaison officers from any armed service to government agencies or offices through agreement with the head of those entities.
Detailing of Armed Forces Security Guards
- President, Secretary of National Defense, or AFP Chief of Staff may detail armed forces security guards to civilian offices, officials, or private entities if deemed in public interest.
Additional Assignments and Details
- President may assign or detail commissioned officers of the armed forces to any civilian government office pursuant to law beyond enumerated assignments.
Exclusion of Diplomatic Military Attaches
- The Order does not govern or regulate the assignment or detail of military attaches to Philippine diplomatic missions abroad.
