Law Summary

Verification of Registration

  • The MTRCB checks if the blocktimer or co-producer is duly registered with the Board.

Submission of Program Episodes

  • If registered, the blocktimer or co-producer is required to submit three recent episodes of the program for review.

Review and Continuous Submission

  • The MTRCB Board reviews the submitted episodes.
  • Despite the exemption request, the blocktimer/co-producer must continue to submit their programs for regular review until exemption is granted.

Approval and Payment of Exemption Fee

  • Upon approval, the Board sends a letter to the program owner notifying them of the exemption approval.
  • The owner is directed to pay an exemption fee which is 50% of the regular review fees, according to the schedule of fees.
  • All payments for exemption and its renewals must be made at the MTRCB Office.

Issuance of Exemption Permit

  • Upon payment completion, the MTRCB issues a letter of Exemption from Review, valid for a fixed period.
  • This letter serves as the official Permit to Exhibit the program without regular Board review during the exemption period.
