Penalties for Non-Compliance

  • Violators face fines up to One Thousand Pesos (₱1,000), imprisonment up to one year, or both.
  • Juridical persons’ responsible officials/employees also liable.
  • Alien offenders subject to deportation after serving sentences without additional proceedings.

Effectivity and Transition

  • The decree becomes effective upon approval.
  • Entities legally permitted to use other systems have until specified dates to fully switch to metric.
  • The Metric System Board will be dissolved by June 30, 1975.

Repealing Clause

  • Existing provisions in the Revised Administrative Code or other laws inconsistent with this decree are repealed or amended accordingly.
