Legal basis and predecessor law adjusted

Coverage: who receives benefits
- Section 1 requires that each cadet of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) receives an initial clothing allowance in kind upon appointment as such.
- Section 1 requires that each cadet of the Philippine Air Force Flying School (PAFFS) receives an initial clothing allowance in kind upon appointment as such.
- Section 2 requires that each cadet of the PMA and the PAFFS receives a clothing maintenance allowance in cash.
Initial clothing allowance in kind (upon appointment)
- Section 1 provides that the initial clothing allowance is given in kind to each PMA and PAFFS cadet upon appointment as such.
- Section 1 directs that the Minister of National Defense, upon recommendation of the Chief of Staff, AFP, shall prescribe the items of clothing and the quantity of each item for each cadet of the PMA and the PAFFS.
Clothing maintenance allowance (cash monthly minimum)
- Section 2 grants a clothing maintenance allowance in cash to each PMA and PAFFS cadet.
- Section 2 sets the minimum monthly amount at not less than One Hundred Pesos (P100.00) a month.
- Section 2 directs that the Minister of National Defense, upon recommendation of the Chief of Staff, AFP, shall prescribe the amount in a way that covers cost of laundry, repair, and other costs needed to maintain clothing’s presentability and prolong its usefulness.
Funding and implementation duties
- Section 3 requires that the funds needed to implement Executive Order No. 788 shall be charged against the Annual Appropriations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
- Section 4 requires the Minister of National Defense to issue implementing instructions necessary and proper to carry out the intent of Executive Order No. 788.
Repeal or modification of conflicting issuances
- Section 5 repeals or modifies accordingly all rules, regulations, and other issuances, or parts thereof, that conflict with Executive Order No. 788.
