Purpose of the Resolution

  • The Board of Pharmacy issued this resolution to implement the provisions of RA No. 5921 and PD No. 1363 regarding the internship program.

Structure of the Internship Program

  • The 960 hours are divided into:
    • 480 hours equally spent in three minor programs:

      • 160 hours in Manufacturing Pharmacy
    • 480 hours as a major program that may be completed in any or all of the three sectors.

Record-Keeping and Reporting Obligations

  • Each internship establishment must:
    • Keep separate records for each pharmacy student.
    • Issue certificates of completion for the hours rendered.
    • Annually submit complete reports of trainees and hours credited to their respective educational institutions and the Board of Pharmacy.

Implementation and Enforcement

  • Submission of the Certificate of Completion is mandatory for eligibility to take the Pharmacist licensure examination starting July 2004.
  • The resolution took effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation, whichever came first.
  • Copies of the resolution are provided to key pharmaceutical educational and professional bodies for dissemination and compliance.
