Commencement of Office Terms

Terms of officials elected under this Act begin at noon on June 30 following election.
For officials elected in December 5, 2022, and thereafter, terms commence at noon on January 1 following election.

Hold-Over Provision

Incumbent barangay and sangguniang kabataan officials remain in office until their successors are duly elected and qualified.
Officials may still be removed or suspended for cause.
Officials who are ex officio members of local sanggunian continue to serve in those roles until the next election.

Necessary funds to implement the Act to come from the appropriations of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) under the General Appropriations Act or supplementary appropriations.

Repealing Clause
