Policy on birth date changes—Court order requirement
- A change in the date of birth shall be given due course only upon presentation by the requesting member to GSIS of a Court Order.
- The Court Order must attest to the validity of the requested change in birth date.
Policy on life insurance benefit computation limits
- Changes in the computation of life insurance benefits arising from the amended date of birth shall no longer be entertained unless the request for the birth date change is effected within one year from the issuance of the member’s life insurance policy.
- The one-year limitation is measured from the date the life insurance policy is issued.
- The restriction applies to adjustments in benefit computation that result from changing the birth date.
Publication and effectivity through dissemination
- The Vice President (Public Affairs) is directed to publish the policy guidelines in the Official Gazette.
- The Vice President (Public Affairs) is also directed to publish the policy guidelines in a newspaper of general circulation.
- Publication was required to be completed for the policy guidelines adopted on the Change of Birth Date.
