Lowering height for PNP, BFP, BJMP, BuCor

RA 11549 amends Section 30 of Republic Act No. 6975 (as amended) by lowering the minimum height for PNP appointment (Section 2).
RA 11549 amends Section 4 of Republic Act No. 9263 by lowering the minimum height for BFP and BJMP uniformed personnel appointment (Section 3).
RA 11549 amends Section 11 of Republic Act No. 10575 by lowering the minimum height requirement for BuCor personnel appointment (Section 4).

Section 30 of Republic Act No. 6975 prohibits appointment as an officer or member of the PNP unless the applicant meets the minimum qualifications stated in the law (Section 2).
The minimum height requirement is 1 meter and 57 centimeters (1.57 m.) for males and 1 meter and 52 centimeters (1.52 m.) for females (Section 2).
A waiver for height requirement is automatically granted to applicants belonging to cultural communities/indigenous peoples (Section 2).

Section 4 of Republic Act No. 9263 prohibits appointment as uniformed personnel of the BFP and BJMP unless the applicant meets the minimum qualifications stated in the law (Section 3).
The minimum height requirement is 1 meter and 57 centimeters (1.57 m.) for males and 1 meter and 52 centimeters (1.52 m.) for females (Section 3).
A waiver for height and age requirements is automatically granted to applicants belonging to cultural communities/indigenous peoples (Section 3).

Section 11 of Republic Act No. 10575 prohibits appointment as personnel of the BuCor unless the applicant meets the minimum qualifications listed in the law (Section 4).
The minimum height requirement is 1 meter and 57 centimeters (1.57 m.) for males and 1 meter and 52 centimeters (1.52 m.) for females (Section 4).
A waiver for height and age requirements may be granted to applicants belonging to cultural communities/indigenous peoples (Section 4).
A new applicant must be not less than twenty-one (21) or more than forty (40) years of age (Section 4).
The qualifications enumerated in the law are continuing in character, and the absence of any one qualification at any given time is a ground for separation or retirement from the service (Section 4).
Those already in service upon the effectivity of RA 11549 are given five (5) years from the effectivity date to obtain the minimum educational qualification and eligibility with subsidiary assistance under the Act (Section 4).

Within ninety (90) days from the effectivity of RA 11549, the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Department of Justice shall promulgate implementing rules and regulations (Section 5).
The promulgation must be done in coordination with the Civil Service Commission, National Police Commission, the PNP, the BFP, the BJMP, and BuCor (Section 5).
The implementing rules and regulations must be necessary to implement RA 11549 (Section 5).

Section 6 provides that if any part, section, or provision of RA 11549 is declared invalid or unconstitutional, the remaining sections or provisions remain valid and subsisting.
Section 7 repeals or modifies accordingly all laws, decrees, ordinances, rules, regulations, other issuances, or parts thereof that are inconsistent with RA 11549.
