Land Transportation Franchising Board (LTFRB) Measures
- Franchises for specified bus routes must operate exclusively using CNG buses.
- No dropping or substitution of franchises allowed unless substitution involves CNG buses.
- Enumerates six specific routes with designated unit allocations:
- Padilla - Quiapo via Aurora Blvd., Sumulong (20 units)
- Padilla - Quiapo via Ortigas Ave., Felix Ave., Marcos Hi-way (20 units)
- Cubao - Batangas City via SLEX, EDSA (60 units)
- San Fernando, Pampanga - Cubao via NLEX, EDSA (20 units)
- Calamba - Lawton via SLEX, EDSA (40 units)
- Lawton - Batangas City via SLEX, EDSA (40 units)
Requirements for Additional Rationalized Routes
- Only applications for franchises involving CNG bus units will be considered.
- Permits issuance exclusively for brand new bus units to comply with quality and environmental standards.
Land Transportation Office (LTO) Documentation Requirements
- Requires certification on vehicle design and safety standards for assembled buses made from second-hand engines and parts.
- Certification must come from the Bureau of Import Services (BIS) or Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
- Requires Certificate of Conformity (COC) from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
- Certification aims to protect road users and ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act.
Immediate Implementation
- All directives and requirements are to be implemented with immediate effect.
