Definition of Student Driver
- A student driver is defined as a holder of a Student Permit.
- The status applies to applicants for a new license who have previously failed the license examination.
Transactions Not Covered by the One-Month Reexamination Rule
The following license transactions allow applicants to take another examination without the one-month waiting period:
- Applicants delinquent for more than two (2) years.
- Applicants changing their license status from non-professional to professional.
- Applicants seeking to add a restriction code.
- Applicants converting an expired foreign license.
Procedures for Reexamination Outside Student Driver Classification
- Applicants falling under the transactions listed above who fail their examination may retake the exam at any time.
- They must pay an application fee of twenty-five pesos (P25.00) for each examination attempt.
Compliance and Enforcement
- Licensing Centers and District Offices are instructed to enforce strictly the provisions of Section 30 of RA 4136 concerning the waiting period for student driver examination retakes.
