Features of the Biometric Identity Card
- The ID includes biometric identifiers such as a digital face photo, fingerprint, and signature of the permit holder.

Replacement of Previous Permits
- The biometric ID replaces the previous temporary residence permits or visas known as "Pink Slipa."
- Despite the introduction of the new biometric IDs, all existing temporary residence/employment permits issued under previous legislation remain valid until their expiration.
Registration Requirements for New Arrivals
- OFWs arriving with an entry permit or "Blue Slipa" are required to register with CRMD or the Aliens and Immigration Units within seven (7) days of arrival in Cyprus.
- This registration is necessary for the processing of the biometric residence/employment permit.
