- To prevent misuse and ensure integrity, all psychiatric examinations for new Prison Guard applicants are to be conducted within BuCor.
- A designated group of psychiatrists will conduct these exams, headed by Dr. Edilinda G. Patac and two other psychiatrists she will designate.
Psychiatric Clearance Requirement for Firearms Possession
- All BuCor employees or applicants seeking to possess firearms must secure psychiatric clearance from the designated group of BuCor psychiatrists.
- The secured clearance must be presented with their applications for the approval of the Director of Corrections.
Psychiatric Examination for Employees Scheduled for Promotion
- In addition to new applicants, all BuCor employees who are slated for promotion will also undergo psychiatric examination by the designated group.
Purpose and Enforcement
- The policy aims to ensure that only mentally fit individuals assume the demanding duties of Prison Guards.
- Strict compliance with these provisions is mandated.
