Scope and Coverage of Modified Import Duties
- The Executive Order specifically applies to articles listed in Annex aAa attached to the Order.
- These articles are subject to new rates of import duty as indicated in the schedule opposite each article.
- Articles not enumerated or those listed but marked with the symbol aX X Xa maintain existing import duty rates and nomenclature.
Objective of the Import Duty Modifications
- Aim to provide assistance to domestic industries to become globally competitive.
- Responds to economic difficulties faced by local industries requiring urgent government support to remain viable.
Effectivity and Implementation
- The modified rates apply immediately upon the Executive Order taking effect.
- They apply to articles entered or withdrawn from warehouses for consumption in the Philippines.
- The Order becomes effective immediately following its full publication in two newspapers of general circulation.
Repeal and Modification of Conflicting Issuances
- All prior Presidential issuances, administrative rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Executive Order are revoked or modified accordingly.

- The Order is signed by the President and the Executive Secretary.
- The issuance date is April 9, 2002, in Manila, Philippines.
