Medina Extension Hospital Conversion Law

The Secretary of Health must include the operation and maintenance of the First Misamis Oriental General Hospital in the Department of Health’s program.
Initial funding will be charged against the current year appropriations of the Medina Extension Hospital.
An amount of Nine Hundred Million Pesos (₱900,000,000.00) is appropriated for the implementation of the Act.
These funds are to be included and funded under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the DOH in the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
Future operational costs are to be included in subsequent annual General Appropriations Acts as necessary.

The Secretary of Health is mandated to prepare and issue the necessary rules and regulations to effectively implement the Act.
These rules and regulations must be consistent with the hospital development plan.

The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication.
Publication can be in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

Direct supervision by DOH ensures centralized management and standards compliance.
Conversion from an extension hospital to a general hospital signifies an upgrade in capacity and service range.
Appropriation of funds is specifically earmarked for hospital conversion and enhancement, reflecting government priority for healthcare infrastructure.
Implementation through a hospital development plan provides a strategic and phased approach to healthcare service expansion and upgrading.
The Secretary of Health holds regulatory authority to ensure the Act's objectives are met through prescribed rules and guidelines.
