Specific Philippine National Standards (PNS) Mandated
- PNS ISO 7165:2000 – Portable fire extinguishers performance and construction.
- PNS ISO 7202:2000 – Fire extinguishing media, powder type.
- PNS ISO 5923:2000 – Fire extinguishing media, carbon dioxide type.
- PNS ISO 7203-1:2000 – Foam concentrates for water-immiscible liquids (low expansion foam).
- PNS ISO 7203-3:2000 – Foam concentrates for water-miscible liquids (low expansion foam).
Certification and Clearance Requirements
- Manufacturers must obtain PS Quality and/or Safety Certification Mark from the Bureau of Product Standards (BPS).
- Importers required to secure an Import Commodity Clearance from BPS prior to customs release.
Implementing Guidelines and Coordination
- BPS shall issue implementing guidelines including timetables considering inventory, production, and testing capabilities.
- BPS may designate competent third-party organizations for inspection, testing, and market monitoring.
- Implementation coordinated with DTI Regional and Provincial Offices and Bureau of Trade Regulation and Consumer Protection.
Repeal and Effectivity
- Previous inconsistent Orders or parts are repealed or amended accordingly.
- The Order takes effect 15 days after publication in two newspapers of general circulation.
