- The holidays listed are observed throughout the Philippines.
- Observation applies unless otherwise modified by law, order, or proclamation under Section 1.
- The order distinguishes regular holidays and nationwide special days in Section 1.
Regular holidays: list and dates
- Section 1(A) requires observance of these regular holidays:
- New Year’s Day is observed on January 1.
- Maundy Thursday is observed on a movable date.
- Good Friday is observed on a movable date.
- Araw ng Kagitingan (Bataan and Corregidor Day) is observed on April 9.
- Labor Day is observed on May 1.
- Independence Day is observed on June 12.
- National Heroes Day is observed on the last Sunday of August.
- Bonifacio Day is observed on November 30.
- Christmas Day is observed on December 25.
- Rizal Day is observed on December 30.
Nationwide special days: list and dates
- Section 1(B) requires observance of these nationwide special days:
- All Saints Day is observed on November 1.
- Last Day of the Year is observed on December 31.
Terminology change in laws and issuances
- Section 2 changes terminology used in laws, orders, rules, and regulations, or other issuances:
- The term “legal or regular holiday” is replaced by “regular holiday.”
- The term “special holiday” is replaced by “special day.”
- The changed terminology applies henceforth to all relevant issuances covered by Section 2.
Repeal and modification; rule for conflicts
- Section 3 repeals or modifies inconsistencies found in existing laws, orders, issuances, rules and regulations, or parts thereof.
- In case of inconsistency with this Executive Order, the inconsistent provisions are repealed or modified accordingly under Section 3.
