Functions and Responsibilities of the Committee
- Formulate policies and guidelines for environmental health protection.
- Develop and coordinate environmental health programs; monitor and evaluate such projects by government or private entities.
- Conduct information dissemination and education campaigns related to environmental health.
- Coordinate and support research and activities for environmental maintenance and protection.
- Execute additional tasks necessary to fulfill objectives of the Executive Order.
Implementation and Coordination
- The Committee shall promulgate implementing guidelines to achieve its objectives.
- Authorized to call on and mobilize government agencies, local government units, government-owned or controlled corporations, and non-governmental institutions for support and assistance.
Secretariat and Administrative Support
- The Committee is assisted by a Secretariat headed by the Director of the Environmental Health Service, Office for Public Health Services, Department of Health.
Funding and Budget Allocation
- One Million Pesos allocated from the Office of the President's emergency funds for 1992 to implement the Order.
- Subsequent budgets to be incorporated into the General Appropriations Act under the Office for Public Health Services, Department of Health operating expenses.
Effectivity
- The Executive Order takes effect immediately upon issuance.
