Employment Contract Review
- Employers are required to review the employment contracts of househelpers every three years.
- The purpose of the review is to improve the terms and conditions of employment.
Social Security System (SSS) Coverage
- Househelpers who earn at least P1,000 per month must be covered by the Social Security System.
- Such househelpers are entitled to all benefits provided under the SSS.
Penalties for Violation
- Violation of any provision of this Act is punishable by imprisonment of up to three months, or
- A fine of up to P2,000, or
- Both imprisonment and fine, at the discretion of the court.
Repeal and Amendment of Inconsistent Laws
- Any laws, executive orders, or instructions inconsistent with this Act are repealed or amended accordingly to conform with this Act.
Effectivity of the Act
- The Act takes effect fifteen days after its publication.
- Publication must be in the Official Gazette or in at least two national newspapers of general circulation, whichever occurs first.
