Previous Subsistence Allowance Rates and Legal Basis
- Executive Order No. 1015 (March 22, 1985) set the subsistence allowance for patients and cadets at not less than 20 pesos per day.
- Executive Order No. 1049 (August 8, 1985) set the subsistence allowance for AFP and INP trainees at not less than 20 pesos per day.
Reason for Increase
- Increase in prices of commodities made the previous daily allowance of 20 pesos insufficient to meet the quality and quantity of food requirements.
New Subsistence Allowance Rates
- Patients confined in AFP/INP hospitals and dispensaries, and cadets of PMA, PAFFS, and PNPA shall receive 30 pesos per day.
- AFP and INP personnel undergoing training in local institutions shall also receive 30 pesos per day.
Funding and Appropriations
- Funding for the increased allowances to be included in the 1988 Annual Appropriations of the AFP and INP.
Implementation and Issuance of Guidelines
- Secretary of National Defense and Chairman of the National Police Commission to issue necessary implementing instructions.
Repeal and Modification of Conflicting Rules
- All existing rules, regulations, or issuances inconsistent with this order are repealed or modified accordingly.
Effectivity of the Executive Order
- The new daily subsistence allowance rates take effect on January 1, 1988.
