Improvement of Chocolate Hills Tourism Site

Section 1 directs that the Chocolate Hills tourist spot in Carmen, Bohol “shall hereby be improved and developed.”
Section 1 states the purpose is to “further enhance its tourism attraction and potentials.”

Section 2 requires the Department of Tourism to prepare the development plan for the Chocolate Hills area.
Section 2 requires the Department of Tourism to coordinate with the Philippine Tourism Authority and other concerned government agencies.
Section 2 mandates the construction of “appropriate facilities and infrastructure” for the area.
Section 2 conditions development and construction on being “subject to set tourism standards.”

Section 2 requires that the development plan ensure the protection and preservation of the area’s natural beauty.
Section 2 also requires preservation of the area’s historical significance.

Section 3 requires the Department of Tourism to take “immediate steps” to implement the development plan.
Section 3 requires the Department of Tourism to incorporate the plan into its overall tourism development program for the ensuing calendar year.

Section 4 authorizes the Department of Tourism to promulgate “such rules and regulations as may be necessary” for the effective implementation of Republic Act No. 7852.
