Extension of Entitlement
- Officials holding equivalent rank or position as the listed officials may be entitled to use low-numbered protocol plates.
- Such entitlement requires approval of the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications upon recommendation of the Assistant Secretary of the Land Transportation Office.
Issuance and Limitations
- Plates issued in pairs for vehicles registered to the official or spouse.
- Limit of not more than two pairs per official, except for certain top officials (President, Vice-President, Senate President, Speaker, Chief Justice) who have no specified limit.
- Senators and Congressmen may receive up to four pairs.
Prohibition on Unauthorized Transfer
- Transfer or assignment of protocol plates to unauthorized persons or vehicles is strictly prohibited.
- Violation results in revocation of privilege, confiscation of plates, and imposition of penalties under existing laws.
Application Procedure
- Requests to be submitted to the Office of the Assistant Secretary.
- Must include letter request, certified copies of appointment and oath of office, and certified copies of vehicle registration and latest official receipt.
Processing and Approval
- Completed applications forwarded to Property Section for preparation of Production Order.
- Production Order recommended by Chief of Administrative Division and endorsed to Assistant Secretary.
- Upon approval, order sent to Plate Making Plant for production.
Issuance and Delivery
- Finished plates delivered to Property Section for recording and issuance to official or authorized personnel.
Fees
- Plate and miscellaneous fees amounting to PHP 377.00 payable to LTO Diliman District Office.
- Official Receipt serves as basis for issuance.
Monitoring and Compliance
- Monthly Monitoring Report to be submitted by Chief, Property Section.
- Report noted by Chief, Administrative Division and submitted to the Assistant Secretary.
- Ensures strict compliance with guidelines and procedures outlined.
