Administrative Sanctions for Violations

  • The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports has disciplinary authority over violations of this Act.
  • Penalties for willful violations are as follows:
    1. First violation: suspension of one (1) month without pay.
    2. Second violation: suspension of two (2) months without pay.
    3. Third and subsequent violations: suspension of six (6) months without pay.

Implementation Rules and Regulations

  • The Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) is mandated to issue the necessary rules and regulations for the Act's implementation.
  • DECS must submit a copy of such rules and regulations to both the Senate and the House of Representatives within ninety (90) days from the Act’s approval.

Repeal and Modification of Inconsistent Laws

  • Any existing laws, decrees, executive orders, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are repealed or modified accordingly.

Effectivity of the Act

  • The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after its complete publication.
  • Publication must be in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
