Franking Privilege for Former Presidents
- Former Presidents are entitled to receive, transmit, and deliver all mail matters within the Philippines free of postage.
- Mail must bear the former President's name on the left-hand corner of the envelope or wrapper to qualify.
- This privilege ceases immediately if the former President announces candidacy for any national office.
- Violation of the franking privilege incurs a fine not exceeding five hundred pesos.
Appropriation of Funds
- The Act authorizes annual appropriations from the National Treasury as necessary to fulfill the provisions.
- Such funds shall be from monies not otherwise appropriated.
Effectivity of the Act
- The Act took effect immediately upon its approval.
- It was enacted without the Executive's approval on June 17, 1967.
