Oath of Allegiance Requirements
- Fabio Enrique Bardales Posas must take and register an oath of allegiance to the Philippines.
- The oath includes renouncing all previous allegiances, particularly to Honduras.
- The oath commits the individual to support and defend the Philippine Constitution and obey its laws and authorities.
- The individual declares recognition of Philippine government’s supreme authority and pledges true faith and allegiance.
- The obligation is voluntary, without mental reservation or evasion.
Recording and Effectivity of Citizenship
- The oath of allegiance must be recorded in the Civil Registry of the City of Manila within sixty (60) days from the law’s approval.
- The act takes effect immediately upon its approval.
- The law lapsed into effect on August 26, 1995, without the President's signature, as per Section 27(1), Article VI of the 1987 Philippine Constitution.
