Negotiations and Transactions with National Power Corporation
- Should the grantees purchase electric heat and power from the National Power Corporation (NPC), the NPC is authorized to negotiate and transact rates on behalf of public consumers.
- This ensures the public interest is considered in rate setting when NPC is involved.
Government's Right to Take Over Plant and Franchise
- The government reserves the right to operate and maintain the plant and enterprise itself.
- If the government exercises this right, the grantees must surrender their franchise.
- All serviceable equipment must be turned over to the government at cost minus reasonable depreciation.
Repeal of Previous Law
- Republic Act No. 619 is repealed to the extent that it conflicts with this Act.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon its approval on June 22, 1957.
