Increased quarters allowance for AFP enlisted men

Proclamation No. 1081 dated September 21, 1972 is declared to be in effect throughout the land.
General Order No. 1 dated September 22, 1972 is invoked as part of the legal basis for measures taken under martial-law conditions.
The order is framed as an authorized enhancement of military morale and efficiency during operations against lawlessness and conspiracies to seize political and state power.

The order recognizes that AFP officers and men carry a grave share of the burden of suppressing activities of groups engaged in a criminal conspiracy to seize political and state power.
The order also recognizes the need to eradicate widespread lawlessness, anarchy, disorder, and wanton destruction of lives and property.
General Order No. 10 is enacted to enhance and keep at a high level the morale and efficiency of AFP officers and men while performing these serious tasks.

The increased monthly quarters allowance applies to enlisted personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The rates are specified for enlisted ranks with corresponding naval equivalents where stated.

Master Sergeant (or Chief Petty Officer) receives P100.00 monthly quarters allowance.
Technical Sergeant (or Petty Officer First Class) receives P100.00 monthly quarters allowance.
Staff Sergeant (or Petty Officer Second Class) receives P90.00 monthly quarters allowance.
Sergeant (or Petty Officer Third Class) receives P90.00 monthly quarters allowance.
Corporal (or Seaman First Class) receives P80.00 monthly quarters allowance.
Private First Class (or Seaman Second Class) receives P80.00 monthly quarters allowance.
Private (or Apprentice Seaman) receives P80.00 monthly quarters allowance.

The increased rates take effect on October 1, 1972.
The order prescribes the increased rates as the governing monthly quarters allowance for covered AFP enlisted ranks for the effective period stated.
