Core amendment to the Commission membership
- Executive Order No. 271 further amends the membership composition of the Population Commission under Executive Order No. 233 as amended.
- The Project Director, Population Information and Education Office, National Media Production Center becomes a member of the Population Commission.
- The position of Project Director, Population Information and Education Office, National Media Production Center is made as a substitution “in lieu of” the prior member role of the Director of the National Media Production Center.
- As a result, the Director of the National Media Production Center no longer holds the Commission membership role covered by the amended assignment, and the Project Director listed above assumes it.
Amendment mechanics and scope
- Executive Order No. 271 operates as a further amendment to Executive Order No. 233 (as amended by Executive Order No. 236).
- The operative change is limited to replacing the member designation from the Director of the National Media Production Center to the Project Director, Population Information and Education Office, National Media Production Center.
- The amendment is expressed as an “in lieu of” replacement, establishing the new member attribution for the Commission.
Signatures and formal act
- President Ferdinand E. Marcos signs Executive Order No. 271 to effect the amendment.
- Alejandro Melchor, the Executive Secretary, also signs to indicate the order’s issuance and effectuation through the executive branch.
