Salary Schedule by Provincial Classification
- First-class provinces: Governor - ₱12,000; Vice-Governor - ₱6,000; Board Members - ₱5,400, etc.
- Second-class to Seventh-class provinces have descending salaries based on the provincial class.
- Specific amounts are detailed for each official and assistant position across classes.
Salary Protection and Adjustment
- Incumbent officials whose salaries would be reduced by the new schedule continue to receive their current salary until successors assume office.
- Salaries may be reduced to the maximum for the next lower provincial class if the province experiences an overdraft or operating expenses exceed revenues.
- Such reduction is implemented by the President upon recommendation of the Secretary of Finance.
Source of Salary Funds
- The highway district engineer's salary is paid entirely from national funds.
- Half of the salaries of provincial auditors, health officers, assistant provincial auditors, and assistant provincial health officers are paid from national funds; the other half from provincial funds.
- Provinces bear the increase in these salaries until national government funding is confirmed in the General Appropriations Act.
Provision of Quarters for Provincial Governors
- The provincial board has discretion to provide quarters or allowance in lieu thereof for the provincial governor in addition to salary.
Travel Expense Reimbursement
- Provincial vice-governors and board members not residing in the provincial capital are entitled to reimbursement of actual and necessary travel expenses for attending provincial board sessions.
Effectivity
- The law takes effect immediately upon approval, embodying the adjustments and provisions herein.
