Establishment of the Rank First Chief Master Sergeant/First Master Chief Petty Officer

Selection Process for the AFP Sergeant Major

  • Selection is made from among Chief Master Sergeants/Master Chief Petty Officers.

Retirement and Separation Benefits

Appropriations for Implementation

  • Initial funding shall be charged to the AFP’s current appropriations under the General Appropriations Act.
  • Future funds for continued implementation shall be included in subsequent General Appropriations Acts.

Rules and Regulations for Implementation

  • The Secretary of National Defense must promulgate necessary rules and regulations within 90 days following the Act’s approval.

Repeal of Inconsistent Laws

  • All prior laws, rules, regulations, orders, circulars, and memoranda inconsistent with the Act are repealed or modified accordingly.

Effectivity of the Act

  • The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after approval.
