Entitlement to Regular Wages for Work on Special Working Holiday
- Employees who work on this declared special working holiday are entitled to receive their regular daily wage.
- The law does not provide additional premium pay beyond the regular wage for work performed on this holiday.
Effectivity of the Act
- The provisions of this Act become effective fifteen (15) days after its publication.
- Publication must be made either in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
Legislative Process and Approval
- The Act originated in the House of Representatives and was passed on March 16, 2015.
- It was subsequently amended and approved by the Senate on December 14, 2015.
- The House of Representatives concurred with the Senate amendments on January 25, 2016.
- The Act was officially approved by the President of the Philippines on May 11, 2016.
