  • Owners, possessors, or users of weights and measures instruments covered under paragraphs (h) to (k) of Article 64, including fraudulent tampering with Timbangan ng Bayan instruments, face the same penalties.
  • Repeated violations (two successive offenses) can result in automatic cancellation of the business permit of the offending individual or establishment.

Implementation and Rulemaking

  • Within 90 days from effectivity, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the DTI, in coordination with local government leagues and relevant stakeholders, shall promulgate implementing rules and regulations.

Funding and Appropriations

  • Funds necessary for establishing Timbangan ng Bayan Centers will be drawn from the national tax allotment and other local government unit funding sources.

Legal Provisions

  • Separability Clause: If any part is declared unconstitutional, the rest of the Act remains effective.
  • Repealing Clause: Any inconsistent laws or regulations are repealed or modified accordingly.
  • Effectivity Clause: The law takes effect 15 days after publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation or the Official Gazette.
