Convening of the Council
- The Secretary of Labor and Employment as Chairman may convene the Council on own initiative.
- Can also convene when requested by any of the tripartite sectors represented in the Council.
Functions of the Council
- Monitoring full implementation and sectoral compliance with the Industrial Peace Accord (IPA).
- Assisting in preparation and conduct of national tripartite conferences called by the President or Secretary of Labor to:
- Review existing labor and social policies.
- Evaluate local and international developments affecting labor policies.
- Formulating tripartite views for submission to Congress on labor and social concerns.
- Presenting tripartite positions on pending relevant legislative proposals.
- Advising the Secretary of Labor and Employment on major labor and employment policies.
Secretariat and Technical Support
- The Department of Labor and Employment is tasked to provide Secretariat and technical services for the Council.
Effectivity
- The Executive Order takes immediate effect upon signing.
