Coordination and Support for Establishment and Maintenance
- The LTFRB Regional Office is authorized to coordinate with the City Government of Puerto Princesa and the Provincial Government of Palawan.
- The purpose of this coordination is to assist in establishing and maintaining facilities and equipment necessary for the extension office's operation.
- LTFRB Region IV shall develop operating guidelines in line with recommendations from the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
- These guidelines cover the proper implementation of rules and regulations for matters relating to public land transportation services within Palawan.
Funding and Budgetary Provisions
- The Secretary of Transportation is mandated to include funding requirements for the establishment and operation of the extension office in the Department of Transportation's program.
- This ensures that necessary resources are allocated for the effective operationalization of the extension office.
Effectivity of the Act
- The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
Additional Legal and Procedural Notes
- The Act was passed by the House of Representatives on November 4, 2019, and by the Senate on January 31, 2022.
- It lapsed into law on May 29, 2022, by virtue of the President's inaction, as provided by the Constitution (Article VI, Section 27 [1]).
