Categories of Restriction Codes Relative to GVW
- Restriction Codes are divided based on the GVW of motor vehicles: those up to 4500 kilograms and those above 4500 kilograms.
Authorization under Restriction Code No. 2
- Licensees with RC 2 are authorized to drive conventional motor vehicles with GVW up to 4500 kg.
- They may also drive motor vehicles with automatic transmission with the same GVW limit.
Authorization under Restriction Code No. 3
- Licensees with RC 3 may drive conventional motor vehicles with GVW above 4500 kg.
- They are also allowed to drive motor vehicles with automatic transmission of the same GVW.
Limitation under Restriction Code No. 4
- Licensees with RC 4 are limited to driving motor vehicles with automatic transmission having GVW up to 4500 kg.
- Driving a conventional transmission vehicle with the same GVW is a violation for holders of this code.
Limitation under Restriction Code No. 5
- Licensees with RC 5 are limited to motor vehicles with automatic transmission and GVW above 4500 kg.
- They are prohibited from driving conventional transmission vehicles of the same GVW.
