Declaration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino
- The last week of July of every year is declared as Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (Week of Filipino Music).
- This is aimed to revitalize government efforts to promote Philippine music.
Designation of the Lead Agency and Support Mechanisms
- The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is designated as the lead agency to oversee the successful annual celebration nationwide.
- All government departments, agencies, instrumentalities, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, and the private sector are encouraged to support and participate actively.
- Radio stations with musical formats are encouraged to broadcast at least four OPM compositions every clock hour during the week.
Encouragement to Public and Private Institutions
- All other public and private institutions are invited to play Original Filipino Music in their premises, where appropriate, to support the celebration.
Formalization and Effectivity
- The proclamation was signed on December 19, 2014, by the President of the Philippines.
- It carries the seal of the Republic of the Philippines and urges collective participation for the promotion of Filipino music culture.
