Amendment to Legal Holidays under the Revised Administrative Code
- Section 29 of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended, is further revised.
- Recognizes Thursdays and Fridays of Holy Week, Christmas Day, and Sundays as legal religious holidays.
- Specifies fixed-date legal holidays including January 1, April 9 (Bataan Day), May 1, July 4, November 30, December 30, and the legally appointed day for general elections.
- If a fixed-date holiday falls on a Sunday, the immediate next day is observed as a legal holiday.
Effectivity of the Act
- The law takes effect immediately upon approval.
- Official approval date is April 6, 1961.
