Bataan Day proclamation and observance
- Section 1 proclaims the ninth day of April as Bataan Day.
- Section 1 enjoins all public officials and citizens of the Philippines to observe Bataan Day.
- Section 1 requires a one-minute silence at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon on Bataan Day.
- Section 1 requires appropriate rites to honor the heroic defenders of Bataan and their parents, wives and/or widows.
Legal holiday classification and amendment
- Section 2 further amends Section 29 of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended.
- The amendment recognizes that certain days are legal religious holidays, including Thursday and Friday of Holy Week, Christmas Day, and Sundays.
- Section 2 lists the legal holidays as:
- the first of January
- the ninth of April
- the first of May
- the fourth of July
- the thirtieth of November
- the thirtieth of December
- the day appointed by law for the holding of a general election
- Section 2 provides that when any regular holiday of fixed date falls on Sunday, the next succeeding day is observed as the legal holiday.
