- The Department of Tourism (DOT) is designated as the lead agency to coordinate and monitor the execution of programs, ceremonies, and activities for the entire year of 2006.
- The DOT coordinates with government agencies, local government units, and non-governmental organizations involved in the tourism industry.
- The year-long celebration commemorates the 50 years of strong partnership and diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan.
Committees, guidelines, and funding powers
- The Secretary of Tourism is authorized to create the appropriate committees/task forces.
- The Secretary of Tourism is authorized to promulgate guidelines necessary for execution of the proclamation.
- The Secretary of Tourism is authorized to allocate the necessary funds for the programs, ceremonies, and activities of the event.
Resource support and solicitation of assistance
- The Secretary of Tourism is authorized to solicit donations, grants, contributions, sponsorship, and/or any form of assistance from private and government entities.
- Any solicitation for such assistance is subject to approval by the Office of the President.
Inter-agency support and private-sector cooperation
- The Secretary of Tourism is authorized to call on any government agency, instrumentality, including government-owned and controlled corporations, to extend full support and assistance for the successful celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year.
- The proclamation calls upon all tourism establishment and business in the private sector to give full cooperation to ensure successful celebration.
