Survey, Boundary Delimitation, and Use Restrictions

  • The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources is tasked to conduct a survey to establish the exact metes and bounds of the park.
  • The Parks and Wildlife Commission will recommend rules and regulations to:
    • Prohibit the sale, lease, exploitation, or disposition of any part of the park except as allowed by the Act.
  • Up to 1,000 hectares may be allocated for settlement by the Batangan tribe under PANAMIN Foundation supervision.
  • Licenses or permits may be granted to the Philippine Wildlife Conservation Foundation for wildlife conservation and management programs within the park.

Administration and Supervision

  • The park shall be under the general executive control and supervision of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
  • The Parks and Wildlife Commission will have immediate direction and administration of the National Park.
  • This is without prejudice to any existing licenses, permits, or contractual arrangements granted pursuant to the Act.

Appropriation and Use of Funds

  • One million pesos (P1,000,000.00) is authorized for appropriation from the National Treasury for the following purposes:
    • Conducting ground or aerial surveys, photogrammetric studies, and preparation of photo-mosaics.
    • Demographic, land, water, forest, range, vegetation, and environmental management and development programs.
    • Identification, inventory, evaluation, and classification of wild animals and plants according to international standards.
    • Scientific studies (zoological, biological, botanical, etc.) for managing wildlife conservation programs.
    • Establishing and preserving wildlife refuges, reserves, sanctuaries for protection and propagation of wildlife.
    • Improvement, beautification, and construction of facilities for tourism development in the park.

Research Funding and Scientific Support

  • The National Science Development Board is authorized to grant at least three hundred thousand pesos (P300,000.00) annually from the Science Fund.
  • The grant supports the Parks and Wildlife Commission and/or the Philippine Wildlife Conservation Foundation.
  • Funds are for establishing and maintaining a research center.
  • Supports scientific studies related to wildlife conservation and management in the park.
  • Allows hiring qualified researchers and technicians for data collection, analysis, and evaluation.

Repeal of Inconsistent Laws

  • All laws, parts of laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are repealed.

Effectivity

  • The Act takes effect immediately upon approval.
