Criteria for Conferment of Presidential Citations
- The awardees are assessed based on the magnitude of their contribution to Philippine economic and development goals.
- Three categories define the criteria:
- For Investors:
- Must have an equity investment of at least US $100 million or provide at least 5,000 jobs.
- Must have operated in the Philippines for more than 10 years.
- Must maintain a good record in labor relations, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
- For Exporters:
- Must have annual exports exceeding US $1 billion in merchandise or US $50 million in services.
- Special Award:
- Designed for a world-renowned corporation about to make a significant investment guaranteeing substantial financial inflow and long-term employment creation.
- For Investors:
Eligible Recipients
- Private business individuals or entities, whether foreign or local, can receive the award.
- The citation recognizes exceptional contributions to the Philippine economic and development objectives.
- The citation is bestowed upon the Chairman or Chief Executive Officer of the awardee's head office.
- It typically marks significant corporate milestones.
Form of the Award
- The Presidential Citation includes the President’s signature.
- It is a formal document symbolizing recognition at the highest level of government.
Implementation and Guidelines
- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) acts as the lead agency responsible for implementing the order.
- DTI will coordinate with relevant government departments.
- Within 30 days from the issuance of the executive order, guidelines for the award’s implementation must be promulgated.
Effectivity Clause
- The executive order takes effect immediately upon issuance.
- This ensures timely recognition of deserving individuals and entities contributing to national development.
