Committee chairmanship and core tasks
- The Committee must undertake these centennial activities:
- Prepare the general program of the Centennial and submit a copy to the President for information.
- Promote and direct an appropriate symposium on the life of Geronima Tomelden Pecson in Manila or Pangasinan.
- Prepare and publish a comprehensive biography of Geronima Tomelden Pecson.
- Install a fitting and inspiring monument in honor of the late Senator Geronima Tomelden Pecson in her birth place of Lingayen, Pangasinan.
- The Committee’s work is directed toward preparations for nationwide commemoration of the centennial birth anniversary.
Technical and administrative support
- The Committee receives technical and administrative support.
- Support personnel are drawn from the National Historical Institute, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the National Centennial Commission.
Funding and budget source
- The Committee is funded with an initial budget.
- The initial budget is to be drawn from the President’s Contingent Fund.
- The initial budget amount is recommended by the Committee and approved by the President.
Ad hoc status and termination
- The Committee is an ad hoc body.
- The Committee’s existence terminates upon the completion of all activities, programs, and projects related to the centennial of the birth anniversary of Geronima Tomelden Pecson.
Effectivity and issuance details
- Executive Order No. 375 takes effect immediately.
- The Executive Order is issued by FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, on October 25, 1996.
- The Order is signed with RUBEN D. TORRES as Executive Secretary “By the President.”
