Creation and Composition of the Organizing Committee
- An Organizing Committee is established to initiate and supervise commemorative activities.
- The Committee is chaired by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
- Members include:
- Cabinet-level Philippine Council for ASEAN and APEC Cooperation (PCAAC)
- Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports
- Press Secretary
- Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education
- The Committee is supported by two PCAAC Technical Boards: Functional Cooperation and Economic Cooperation.
- All government departments and agencies are mandated to support the Committee's activities when requested.
Communication Plan Directive
- PCAAC is tasked to create and implement a communication plan.
- The plan aims to enhance Filipinos' understanding of ASEAN's benefits.
- Emphasis on political, economic, and functional cooperation is required.
Secretariat Support
- The Office of ASEAN Affairs within the Department of Foreign Affairs acts as the Organizing Committee's secretariat.
- Assistance from ASEAN units across all government departments and agencies is mandated.
Funding Provision
- A budget of fifteen million pesos (P15,000,000.00) is allocated for the commemorative activities.
- Funds are charged against the Contingency Fund of the Office of the President.
Effectivity
- The Executive Order takes effect immediately upon issuance.
This framework ensures a coordinated and well-funded celebration of ASEAN's 30th anniversary, strengthening regional awareness and cooperation.
