Application of Laws to New Barangays
- All existing and future laws applicable to regular barangays shall apply to the newly created barangays, except as otherwise provided.
Governance and Appointment of Officials
- Existing elected officials of Bagong Buhay and Minuyan to serve as officials of the new barangays until the President appoints new officials.
- Presidential appointees shall serve until successors are elected in the next regular barangay elections.
- Presidential appointees may be removed at the President's pleasure.
- Additional appointive officers and employees may be appointed according to existing laws to complete barangay government personnel.
Transfer of Assets and Liabilities
- Proportionate shares of obligations, funds, assets, and other properties of Bagong Buhay and Minuyan shall be transferred to the new barangays.
- Transfer execution depends on the recommendation of the Commission on Audit and approval by the President.
Repeal and Modification of Inconsistent Laws
- Any laws, executive orders, or regulations inconsistent with this decree are repealed or modified accordingly.
Effectivity
- The decree takes effect immediately upon its issuance.
