Creation of Salug Municipality in Zamboanga

Section 1 separates the barrios of Salug, Mucas, Libertad, Tambalang, Balacan, Danao, Caracol, Canawan, Bacong, Lipakan, and Palandok from the Municipality of Liloy, Province of Zamboanga del Norte.
Section 1 constitutes these barrios into a distinct and independent municipality to be known as the Municipality of Salug, same province (Zamboanga del Norte).
Section 1 locates the seat of government at the site of the present barrio of Mucas.

Section 2 provides that the first mayor of Salug is appointed by the President.
Section 2 provides that the first vice-mayor of Salug is appointed by the President.
Section 2 provides that the first councilors of Salug are appointed by the President.
Section 2 requires the consent of the Commission on Appointments for these appointments.
Section 2 states that the appointed officials shall hold office until their successors are elected in the next general elections for local officials and shall have qualified.

Republic Act No. 2510 does not establish penalties, fines, or sanctions for non-compliance.
Republic Act No. 2510 contains no separability or sunset clauses.
