Legal basis, predecessor laws, and repeal
- Republic Act No. 617 is enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled.
Creation of the municipality of Quezon
- Section 1 separates the barrios of Berong and Alfonso XIII from the municipality of Aborlan and constitutes them into a new and regular municipality.
- Section 1 separates the barrios of Iraan, Candawaga, and Canipaan from the municipality of Brook’s Point and constitutes them into the same new and regular municipality.
- Section 1 names the newly created municipality as the Municipality of Quezon.
- Section 1 sets the present site of the barrio of Alfonso XIII as the seat of the government.
Officials and interim authority
- Section 2 provides that the elective officials of the new municipality are appointed by the President of the Philippines.
- Section 2 provides that these appointed elective officials shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and shall have duly qualified.
