Barangays Covered by Separation
- Section 1 lists the following barangays that are separated from the Municipality of Pikit and placed under the new municipality:
- San Mateo
- Dualing
- Santa Cruz
- Bagolibas
- Pagangan
- Katalicanan
- Cawilihan
- Pentil
- Palacat
- Lawih
- New Panay
- New Leon
- Luanan
- Tornado
- Malapang
- Lower Mingading
- Upper Mingading
- Tapudoc or Dungguan
- Section 1 limits the separation and constitution into Aleosan to the above barangays within the same province.
Legal Effects After Plebiscite Approval
- Section 1 makes the creation of Aleosan conditional: the municipality is created only with approval of a majority of votes cast in the plebiscite.
- Section 3 provides that after the plebiscite approval, governance is established through Presidential appointment of local officials.
- Section 3 provides that the appointed officials hold office at the pleasure of the President.
- Section 3 provides that their term continues until their successors shall have been elected in the next general elections for local officials.
Municipality Boundaries Defined
- Section 2 establishes the territorial boundaries of the Municipality of Aleosan through a detailed metes-and-bounds description.
- Section 2 sets the point of origin as the center of the concrete bridge at the intersection of Cotabato-Davao National Highway and Bulanan Creek.
- Section 2 requires boundary tracing using combinations of:
- upstream and downstream courses of Bulanan Creek
- downstream and other directional courses involving Malitubog River
- downstream and other directional courses involving Panicupan Creek
- boundaries and roads referenced by lot numbers and centerlines of lot roads
- Section 2 ends the boundary description at the center of Bulanan Concrete Bridge along Cotabato-Davao Road, returning to the point of origin.
Officials Appointed by the President
- Section 3 directs that the mayor of Aleosan and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of the new municipality are appointed by the President of the Philippines.
- Section 3 provides that these officials hold office at the pleasure of the President.
- Section 3 provides that their incumbency lasts until successors are elected in the next general elections for local officials.
Plebiscite Requirements and Timing
- Section 4 mandates the Commission on Elections to conduct and supervise the plebiscite.
- Section 4 requires the plebiscite to be held within one hundred twenty (120) days from the approval of this Act.
- Section 4 provides that the expenses for holding the plebiscite are charged to local funds.
Effectivity of the Act
- Section 5 provides that Batas Pambansa Blg. 206 takes effect upon its approval.
- The Act is Approved: March 25, 1982.
