Presidential Decree No. 1336 establishes Barangay Talon Tres as a separate subdivision from Barangay Talon in order to facilitate socio-economic development projects in the area, with existing officials continuing their duties until new appointments are made.

Creation of Barangay Talon Tres

  • The subdivisions known as Carmencita, Paramount, Admiral Park, Pelayo, Aristocrat, Doña Purisima and Golden Gate in Barangay Talon are detached and separated to form a distinct and independent barangay.
  • The newly created barangay is known as Barangay Talon Tres.
  • The creation of Barangay Talon Tres does not affect the legal existence of the mother barangay Barangay Talon in any manner.

Applicability to regular barangays

  • Section 2 provides that, except as otherwise provided, all provisions of law applicable to regular barangays apply to Barangay Talon Tres.
  • The rule applies to both “law now” and “law hereafter” applicable to regular barangays.

  • Section 3 provides that the present elective barangay officials of Barangay Talon continue to perform their duties as officials in the newly created Barangay Talon Tres.

Transfer of assets, funds, and obligations

  • Upon the effectivity of the decree, Barangay Talon Tres receives a proportionate share of Barangay Talon’s obligations, funds, assets, and other property.
  • The transfer is made by the President upon the recommendation of the Commission on Audit.

Repeal of inconsistent laws; immediacy

  • Section 5 repeals or modifies all laws or parts of laws, and all executive orders or regulations, that are inconsistent with Presidential Decree No. 1336.
  • Section 6 provides that the decree takes effect immediately.
  • The decree is dated April 03, 1978 and is signed as executed “Done in the City of Manila this 3rd day of April, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-eight.”
