Applicability of Laws to Barangay Sangandaan
- All current and future laws applicable to regular barangays shall apply to Barangay Sangandaan.
- This ensures the new barangay operates under the same legal framework as other barangays.
Initial Government Officials and Appointment Procedures
- The current elected barangay officials of Barangay Baesa will initially continue their duties as officials of Barangay Sangandaan.
- The President shall appoint official barangay officials for Sangandaan, who will serve until successors are elected in regular barangay elections.
- Appointed officials can be removed at the President’s pleasure.
- Additional appointive officers and employees may be appointed following existing laws to complete the barangay government structure.
Transfer of Assets and Obligations
- Upon effectivity, the proportionate share of funds, assets, obligations, and other properties of Barangay Baesa attributable to the area forming Barangay Sangandaan shall be transferred accordingly.
- The transfer is subject to the recommendation of the Commission on Audit and executed by the President.
Repeal and Modification of Inconsistent Laws
- Any laws, parts of laws, executive orders, or regulations inconsistent with this decree are repealed or modified to conform with the provisions of this decree.
Effectivity
- The decree takes effect immediately upon issuance, thereby giving immediate legal recognition and operation to Barangay Sangandaan.
