Applicability of Legal Provisions
- All laws applicable to regular barangays shall apply to Barangay Marikina Heights.
- This includes both current and future laws governing barangays unless otherwise provided.
Governance and Appointment of Officials
- Incumbent elective barangay officials of Barangay Concepcion will continue to serve in Barangay Marikina Heights until new appointments.
- The President shall appoint officials for Barangay Marikina Heights.
- Appointed officials hold office until successors are elected and qualified in the following regular barangay elections.
- The President may remove appointed officials at his pleasure.
- Additional appointive officers and employees necessary for complete governance will be appointed following existing laws.
Transfer of Assets and Obligations
- Upon the decree’s effectivity, Barangay Marikina Heights will receive a proportionate share of Barangay Concepcion’s obligations, funds, assets, and other properties.
- The transfer shall be executed by the President upon recommendation of the Commission on Audit.
Repeal and Modification of Inconsistent Laws
- All laws, executive orders, or regulations inconsistent with this decree are repealed or modified accordingly.
Effectivity
- The decree takes effect immediately upon issuance.
